Frequently asked questions
What is the IKDC? ⌄
The IKDC (International Knee Documentation Committee) is an internationally validated questionnaire assessing symptoms, function and sports activity in patients with knee injuries, especially ligaments and menisci. It is the standard for publications on knee ligament treatment outcomes.
How is the score calculated? ⌄
All item scores are summed, excluding the prior knee function (10a). The total is divided by the maximum possible score (87) and multiplied by 100. A score of 100 means no limitation and no symptoms.
What does each score range mean? ⌄
Score ≥ 80: good function, generally compatible with return to sport. Score 50–79: moderate limitation. Score < 50: significant limitation, specialist evaluation recommended.
Does this calculator replace a medical consultation? ⌄
No. This tool is only a clinical scoring aid and does not replace evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional.
